Dana-Thomas House restoration : plans and documents, 1981-1989.

The Dana-Thomas House, located in Springfield, Ill., was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1902 for Susan Lawrence Dana. In 1943 she sold the building to Charles C. Thomas, who established his business office in the house. When his business vacated the house in 1981, Governor James R. Thompson and the state legislature approved the purchase of the house and funded the restoration process documented in this collection. The collection consists of plans, historical research, contracts, proposals, object inventories, condition reports, and working manuals used by the project team during the restoration. Wilbert R. Hasbrouck served as the Project Director, coordinating the production of the process and assessment report, conducting historical research and editing the final report.
